Are you a circusprofessional based in UK? You are kindly invited to join a professional exchange organised by Circuscentrum Flanders and hosted by our UK partners from March 13 to March 16 2023.

Circuscentrum is organising a work visit to the UK from March 13 to 16 2023. This work visit is part of the project 'Circus connections between Flanders and the UK: towards a new normal'. As a support centre, Circuscentrum aims to connect professionals from the UK and Belgium and look for long-term cooperation possibilities and opportunities. The programme will consist of a mix of site visits, thematic exchanges, (project) presentations and networking opportunities. The delegation will consist of a mix of artists, policy advisors, programmers, venue and residency representatives and circus professionals.

  • London, 13 March 2023 | Jacksons Lane will make their circus church available to us for a day-long programme consisting of project presentations by Flemish companies and a networking moment with UK professionals, followed by a roundtable conversation that focusses on the responsibility of venues and artists towards their audience and how to progress to a more inclusive approach on and off stage. The day will end with a Flemish evening show s.o.l.o brought to you by Sur Mesure.

  • Newbury, 14 March 2023 | 101 Outdoor Arts welcomes us in Newbury to discover the work of this National Centre for Arts in Public Space. Their residency centre welcomes 60 companies each year and is a centre for artist development and innovation. At 101 will facilitate a transnational conversation on different models of creating and producing across the UK and Flanders.
  • Bristol 15 March 2023 | Bristol Circus Community. We conclude the working visit in Bristol where our hosts include CircusWorks, the UK’s Youth Circus Umbrella; Bristol Old Vic; Circomedia, a leading school of contemporary circus and physical theatre; and Unit 15 Creation Space, a creation space collectively managed by the circus community. Our concluding roundtable, organised in collaboration with CircusWorks, will focus on sharing experiences on the importance of physical, technical and psycho-social safety in different contexts where circus is created, shown and practiced.
